Leeds United are chasing the capture of AFC Fylde midfielder Serhat Tasdemir this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The report states that the Whites are in the hunt for the talented 17-year-old who is also attracting interest from the Premier League, with former champions Leicester City also keeping tabs on the hotshot.

Tasdemir is a versatile midifelder, who can play on the right or left wing and reportedly sparked the interest of the Elland Road outfit earlier in the season.

Now, after being named in the National League’s U23 team of the year, as well as breaking the record as Fylde’s youngest ever goalscorer, it is said that Leeds will continue their hot pursuit this summer.

Good move for Leeds?

Absolutely, for a goal scoring midfielder who is also available for a cheap price is always worth a punt, even if he is coming from non-league.

Tasdemir scored five goals in 28 outings making him the club’s youngest ever scorer when he scored against Bromley FC in September last year and has gone from strength to strength.

Leeds love to blood the youngsters and the 17-year-old certainly fits the bill, with an Elland Road debut not too far down the line.

Likely to happen?

That depends on how much United want the youngster.

With Leicester also reportedly in the running for the player, it is difficult to see how Tasdemir would fit into the Premier League side and whether the player would even want to go to a team where he would virtually have no chance of getting into the first team.

Following the Whites announcement that they would be joining forces with the 49ers Enterprises, they now have the financial backing to pursue their targets and can offer a better package.

With that promise of football and financial incentives, there is every chance Tasdemir would be tempted by a move to Elland Road after seeing so many youngsters breaking into the side this season.
