Everton still need to sign a top centre-forward in the summer to make sure they improve next season and should rekindle their interest in Leicester City talisman Jamie Vardy.

The Toffees were reportedly keen in January in snapping up the England international, but a deal never materialised and they have looked short in the attacking department all campaign.

Sam Allardyce’s side need a proven goalscorer to spearhead the attack in the next season if they are to compete for European spots and the Foxes ace would fit the bill.

Vardy registered his 15th Premier League goal of the campaign at the weekend as he continues his impressive form and now has 18 across all competitions this season.

The 31-year-old appears to be getting better with age and his finishing in front of goal has become clinical.

He would inject raw pace to the Everton attack and has shown consistently in recent years that he is a top Premier League marksman.

Vardy would definitely thrive off service from the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott, while a fresh challenge at Goodison Park could potentially make him even better.

The blistering attack has an incredible work-rate that has been missing at times from the Everton side this year and his high-profile arrival would be a real statement.

He has not been mentioned alongside the top strikers in the division over the last few years, but few have been quite as prolific and dangerous during that time.

It is another huge transfer window for Everton coming up and the club need to ensure they sign players that can hit the ground running, something that Vardy has the quality to do.
