Serge Aurier completed 90 minutes in the draw with Brighton on Tuesday night – and Tottenham fans on Twitter annihilated him for his performance.
The 25-year-old defender was promoted to the starting XI for the Premier League clash, as manager Mauricio Pochettino rotated his side with an FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United at the weekend.
Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton and that means they are eight points above fifth-placed Chelsea in the league standings, but their London rivals do have a game in hand.
Harry Kane opened the scoring for the visitors early in the first-half, but soon after Aurier cost his side a penalty after tangling legs with Jose Izquierdo.
Brighton talisman Pascal Gross equalised from the resulting penalty and they were given another huge lift in their fight against relegation.
Spurs fans on social media decided to single out Aurier for his individual display and believe that he really struggled to make a positive impact.
The right-back is in direct competition with teammate Kieran Trippier for a regular spot in the starting XI, but it appears he is playing second fiddle at the minute and it would be no surprise to see him drop out of the side for the FA Cup tie.

Still prefer Trippier. His distribution far better that Aurier. #COYS

We’ve conceded 7 penalties this season. 4 of them from fouls committed by Serge Aurier…he’s played less than half of the season…need anymore ever be said…? #COYS #BHATOT #SellSerge

Aurier is a liability. Always capable of making the stupid tackle. Not a great performance but need to move on and make sure we are ready for Saturday. #COYS.

How is Serge Aurier a Premier League footballer? He's a liability at the best of times. #TeamTrippier #COYS #THFC

I honesty don’t know why we don’t play KWP. Aurier is such a liability and this stage season you can’t afford that. He’s always got mistake in him + KWP is a better defender imo #COYS #THFC

Very ordinary performance tonight, and yet again Aurier shows how much of a liability he is! #COYS
