Rangers have announced that Danish company Hummel will be their new kit supplier after agreeing a three-year deal, and fans have taken to Twitter to ridicule the club.

As confirmed on the club’s official website, Hummel will produce three kits per season for the Light Blues, as well as a wide range of training gear.

The deal agreed between the two parties is described as an ‘initial’ three-year agreement, which would suggest there is scope for them to extend the contract.

Press outlets had widely reported the deal before it was officially announced by the club, with the Daily Record claiming that the three-year agreement could see the Ibrox club receive around £10million.

That would represent a significant boost on their previous agreement with Puma, which was put in place last summer after the club freed itself from a crippling deal with Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct.

That deal had seen the club receive just 7p from every £1 spent in the club shop, while this new deal with Hummel will see the money go directly into the club’s coffers.

Fans have taken to Twitter to react to the official announcement, with many using the opportunity to call for manager Graeme Murty to be sacked, while others made witty comments about the deal.
