Nottingham Forest have announced that Tobias Figueiredo is to join the club on a permanent deal this summer, and fans on Twitter have been blown away by the news.
The young Portuguese enforcer joined Forest on a short-term loan deal in January from Sporting Lisbon, and has impressed in his 11 appearances for the club so far.
As announced on the club’s official website, Figueiredo will sign for the club for an undisclosed fee this summer, bringing to an end his 11-year association with boyhood club Sporting.
After joining the club at the end of the January transfer window, Figueiredo was made to wait three games before making his club debut against Burton Albion, with the match ending in a 0-0 draw.
Since then the 24-year-old has completed 90 minutes in every single one of the club’s Championship fixtures, with their form slightly improving under new boss Aitor Karanka.
The Spaniard will be looking to bolster his squad for a run at promotion next season, after taking over from Mark Warburton in January.
Fans have taken to Twitter to react with delight to the news, with Figueiredo obviously a fan favourite already at the City Ground despite having spent just three months or so at the club.
