Newcastle United supporters on social media mocked their local rivals after it was claimed that Magpies fans had bought tickets for Sunderland’s game against Wolves.
The Black Cats are set to take on Wolves at the Stadium of Light on May 6, but a recent report claimed that Sunderland were cancelling tickets in the away end for the game.
Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie reported, via his personal Twitter account, that tickets for the game were being cancelled as Sunderland believed Magpies supporters had gotten a hold of them.

Sunderland’s clash against Wolves could be the side’s final match in the Championship for a while, as they could be in League One next season instead.
Chris Coleman’s side look destined to be relegated from England’s second-tier this season, as they currently sit bottom of the league, six points adrift of safety with only three games left to play.
However despite the club having concerns that Magpies fans have bought tickets in an attempt to witness The Black Cats’ last game of the season, Newcastle supporters didn’t believe the report.
One fan tweeted to suggest that it was just an excuse by Sunderland to justify the fact that there are not enough Wolves fans willing to watch The Black Cats play their side.
While another stated that cancelling tickets was pathetic even by Sunderland’s standards, as there could be Wolves fans living in the North East who want to attend the fixture.
