West Ham United are confident of securing deals for exciting Fulham duo Tom Cairney and Ryan Fredericks this summer, according to TEAMtalk

The football news site report that both players have hired the same high-profile agent this season with the intention of leaving the Whites during the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk claim that Fulham believed they had an option to extend Fredericks’ contract and only discovered earlier this season that was not the case, with manager Slavisa Jokanovic fuming at the possibility of losing the flyer on a free.

It is said however that Jokanovic has accepted that Cairney is leaving the club, with the relationship between the two described as ‘frosty’, with the Scotland international making it clear he wants to leave.

Fulham currently sit in third in the Championship and stand a chance at automatic promotion going into the final day of fixtures next week.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

Fredericks is a former Tottenham academy graduate and has really come into his own at Craven Cottage over the past season or so, and his pace will be an asset to the Hammers on the right flank.

Cairney is an exciting attacking midfielder with a wand of a left foot and a deadly shot on him, and he will add some depth to the Hammers attack.

With Fredericks arriving on a free and Cairney for a touted fee of around £20million, this is good transfer business from the Irons.

Likely to happen?

If this report is to be believed, then yes.

However, if Fulham get promoted, then you would think both players may have second thoughts about leaving, and may scupper West Ham’s plans.
