David Moyes is considering dropping West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart for the game against Arsenal, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that after Hart made a blunder during the Hammers’ 1-1 draw with Stoke City, Moyes may opt to play Adrian against the Gunners instead on Sunday.

The Sun report that the Hammers manager is yet to decide whether the 30-year-old will keep his place in the team, nor has the club decided whether to keep the goalkeeper beyond the end of this season.

Hart joined the Hammers on loan from Manchester City at the start of the season, and is due to return to the Premier League champions after the current campaign finishes.

According to The Sun’s report, West Ham insiders have admitted that no decision regarding the goalkeeper will be made until the summer.

However it is believed to be unlikely that Hart’s £120,000-a-week Hammers deal will be renewed, and that he will return to Pep Guardiola’s side when his loan deal expires.

OPINION

Hart has failed to impress in the 22 appearances he has made for the Hammers this season, and it will be no surprise to see him depart the club in the summer. It would actually be more shocking if the Hammers opt to sign the 30-year-old goalkeeper on a permanent basis. Hart has made several errors throughout the season which has cost his sides vital points, and Moyes knows the Hammers need a more reliable goalkeeper for next season. If the Hammers boss opts to axe Hart for the game against the Gunners on Sunday, it’s hard to see how he will get back into the team before the end of the current campaign.
