Jamie Redknapp has admitted he is blown away by the quality of Tottenham sensation Christian Eriksen and feels he goes under the radar because he goes about his work quietly.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has been in stunning form this campaign for Spurs and netted twice at the weekend in a 2-1 away win over Stoke.
He is now up to 14 goals this season across all competitions and has 10 assists on top of that too.

The Denmark international has been the heartbeat of the North London club at times this term and dragged them through the mud on several occasions.

Redknapp insists that Eriksen is a real star within the Spurs squad and even labelled him a “silent assassin” due to the lack of credit he receives.

“If Christian Eriksen had tattoos and a silly haircut then maybe we would notice him more, but the midfielder is just not that type of player,” Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail.

“Eriksen is Tottenham’s silent assassin. He gets on with his job and does it quietly but brilliantly.

“I am a huge admirer of Mauricio Pochettino because he is a manager who improves players. He has done that with Dele Alli and Eric Dier, but none more so than with Eriksen.”

OPINION

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City have been the two standout players in the Premier League this season, but Eriksen surely can’t be too far behind them. The creative playmaker has a colossal impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s side and most of their attacking play usually runs through him. He has produced some eye-catching displays this season, most notably in the recent win over London rivals Chelsea as they all but secured a top four position in the league. Eriksen has the technical quality to play for any team in the world and Spurs fans know how fortunate they are to have him.
