Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are interested in a summer swoop for Stoke City forward Xherdan Shaqiri, according to the Gambling Times

The news website claim that Stoke are braced to lose three of their big-name stars this summer, even if they manage to avoid relegation to the Championship.

The Gambling Times report that Shaqiri is one of those set to leave, with Tottenham and West Ham among the several clubs interested in the 5ft 6in speed demon.

It is said that clubs abroad are also showing interest in the Switzerland international, who starred for Bayern Munich and Inter Milan before his move to the Bet365 Stadium.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

On the whole, yes.

Shaqiri has proven during his time at Stoke that he is a game-changer, and belongs at a higher level.

Eyebrows were raised when the 26-year-old chose to join Stoke from Inter Milan, but he has shown that he can deliver in the Premier League at a smaller club.

While he would not start at Tottenham, Shaqiri would be a good squad addition and would add firepower to the club’s attack.

Likely to happen?

You would think not.

Shaqiri does not strike you as a Mauricio Pochettino player, and he will likely head abroad this summer.
