Liverpool face an important summer transfer window as they look to build on their most promising season in years, and the club’s latest reported target would be a brilliant place to start.

Italian outlet Mediaset Premium, as reported by the Express, are claiming that the Reds are showing interest in Juventus star Paulo Dybala, with Jurgen Klopp eyeing up the Argentine as Philippe Coutinho’s long-term replacement.

The 24-year-old is rated at £90million by the Italian giants, after signing for the club for around £23million from Palermo in 2015.

And, if Liverpool do manage to somehow lure Dybala to Anfield, then they will be in with a massive shout of winning their first Premier League title next season.

The Argentine ace has an incredible one-in-two goalscoring record for Juve, having netted 67 goals in 132 appearances for the Turin club, and 51 in 91 Serie A matches.

His brilliant play for Juve has begun to attract the biggest clubs in world football, with the young forward linked with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent times.

He was the conqueror of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League this year, with his Wembley goal a dagger to Spurs hearts in their last-16 tie.

Back in Italy in Serie A, Dybala recently notched his third hat-trick of the season as Juventus kept up their charge for a seventh successive title.

If you add that kind of goalscoring to an already-dangerous Liverpool attack, it is hard to see Liverpool not being up their at the top of the Premier League come the end of next season.

While there may remain questions about the future of Mo Salah amid interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool’s attack would still be potent even if the Egyptian left.

The signing of Dybala, alongside a solid defensive acquisition to partner Virgil van Dijk, would make Liverpool a seriously worrying proposition for their domestic rivals next season.

While some may say such a swoop is unlikely, let’s remember that there is still around £70million of that Coutinho cash left to spend, so a £90million swoop for Dybala is definitely not out of the question.
