Islam Slimani proved his worth off the bench in the win over Arsenal on Sunday – and Newcastle United fans on Twitter raved about his quality.
The 29-year-old striker was introduced to the action in the second-half in the Premier League and helped the Magpies earn a 2-1 victory against the Gunners.
Rafael Benitez’s side passed the 40-point barrier with their win at St James’ Park and have now won their last four consecutive league matches.
They found themselves a goal down due to a Alexandre Lacazette strike early in the first-half, but in-form playmaker Ayoze Perez responded soon after with a goal at the near post.
The hosts then scored their winner in the 68th minute through Matt Ritchie and substitute Slimani proved vital in the build-up with his powerful header.
Newcastle fans on social media decided to single out Slimani for special praise and many have suggested that the club need to turn his loan move from Leicester City into a permanent one next season.
The powerful centre-forward appears to have already won over fans despite the Arsenal match being just his second for the club.
Many feel he is the attacker that the club have been searching for and the Algeria international will hope to finish the season strongly for them after getting over his injury problems.
