Aston Villa fans on social media heaped praise on Lewis Grabban after the forward impressed them with his performance against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Villans supporters were blown away by the 30-year-old’s display as he registered an assist and grabbed two goals to help his side defeat the Tractor Boys 4-0 at Portman Road.

One fan tweeted that it was like having Optimus Prime upfront, perhaps referring to the fact that the 30-year-old forward put in a powerful and complete performance on Saturday.

Meanwhile another supporter requested that manager Steve Bruce continues to play the forward in the play-offs – if the Villans end up featuring in them.

Grabban has featured 13 times for the Villans, scoring seven goals, while creating one since arriving at Villa Park in January.

The forward joined Bruce’s side on loan in January from Bournemouth, as reported by the BBC, and is set to return to his parent club in the summer once his loan deal expires.

As the Villans might not have the forward next season, one fan took to Twitter in order to urge the club to sign Grabban on a permanent basis after witnessing his display on Saturday.
