Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has proven in recent years that he is very good at developing young talents, but goalkeeper Danny Ward is one of the rare occasions where he would be better off leaving Anfield.

The 24-year-old is still extremely young for a shot-stopper and made a name for himself last season out on loan, where he played an integral role in helping Huddersfield achieve promotion from the Championship.

He returned to the Merseyside club in the summer full of confidence after a fabulous campaign out of loan and appeared to have a bright future ahead of him.

However, this season has been a complete write off for him as he has made just one senior appearance for Liverpool and had to watch on from the sidelines.

Ward proved that he is an upcoming goalkeeper with brilliant potential and games with the Under-23s side is not really going to help him take the next stop.

Klopp definitely made the wrong decision with regards to the goalkeeper, who should have been sent out on another loan move if he had no intention of playing him.

Loris Karius has now managed to cement the number one position at Liverpool, but the area has been so unclear for years and not many fans would have complained if Ward had been nudged up the pecking order ahead of number two Simon Mignolet.

Ward has four international caps for Wales and has definitely got a bright future in the game if regular given playing time.

He only needs to look over at Burnley’s Nick Pope, 25, for a great example and that is why he should look to force a move in the summer.
