Everton manager Sam Allardyce has given attacker Yannick Bolasie plenty of opportunities in the past couple of months, but he should face a permanent axe given the quality of his performances.

The 28-year-old has completely lost his rhythm since his return from injury in the New Year and it’s understandable after missing the first half of the season.

However, the Toffees can’t afford to carry any passengers in their starting XI and right now he should be warming the bench.

The left-winger has made 11 senior appearances this campaign, but is yet to register a goal or an assist in that time.

He looks a shadow of the player that was once ripping it up in the Premier League with Crystal Palace and is failing to show his full potential.

The Congo international is a brilliant wide man with great trickery and speed when he is on form, but has perhaps been rushed back too quickly and has too much pressure on him.

Allardyce needs to take him out of the firing line and the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Nikola Vlasic can definitely step in to the side to replace him.

Everton are still potentially in the hunt for a spot in the Europa League for next season and need to try finish strongly this season.

They know that Bolasie has the quality to perform in the top flight and supporters should hope to see him back to his best in next campaign once he has had a full pre-season under his belt.
