Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has revealed that striker Jonathan Kodjia is back to full fitness and will be in the squad to face Hull City this weekend, and fans have gone into meltdown on Twitter at the news.

Ivory Coast international Kodjia has been missing since November after undergoing a second operation on an ankle injury, with fears that he would miss the rest of the season.

The 28-year-old forward initially suffered the injury at the end of last season before having surgery to correct it, and returned in September for eight games.

However, he suffered a recurrence of the injury while on international duty and has been missing for four months after his second bout of surgery.

After returning to first-team training in recent weeks, Bruce has now confirmed that Kodjia is fully fit and will be part of the squad that travel to the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The news was revealed on the club’s Twitter account on Friday morning:

Villa travel to Hull in need of a win to keep up their slim automatic promotion hopes, which have taken a blow in recent weeks with losses to QPR and Bolton.

Fans have taken to Twitter to go mad at Kodjia’s return, with the Ivorian obviously a favourite among supporters at Villa Park.
