Tottenham are one of three Premier League teams in the hunt for striker Rodrigo from Spanish outfit Valencia, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that Spurs, Everton and Brighton are all eyeing moves in the summer for the 27-year-old.

Rodrigo is a left-footed attacker renowned for his blistering pace and has helped Valencia climb up to fourth in the La Liga table.

The Spain international has scored 16 goals across all competitions this campaign and signed a new contract last year that keeps him at the club until 2022.

It is understood Rodrigo has a release clause worth £105million, but the Premier League trio are ready to approach with moves starting in the region of £35millioin.

Good move for Spurs?

There is no doubt that Mauricio Pochettino needs to sign a new centre-forward in the summer as Fernando Llorente is no longer good enough to play the back-up role to Harry Kane.

They will welcome back Vincent Janssen from his loan spell, but he has already struggled in the past and it would be worth going out to sign a fresh face.

Rodrigo has really impressed in La Liga this campaign and looks like someone who could light up the Premier League.

The Spaniard has frightening speed and has proven he can be clinical on his favoured left foot in front of goal.

Likely to happen?

The fact that Rodrigo is committed to a long-term deal with Rodrigo means it would be a surprise to see him move on in the summer, but if he manages to perform for Spain at the World Cup it could force a big-money move to England.

Spurs will surely bring in a new attacker ahead of next season and know they can’t solely rely on Harry Kane.
