OPINION

Martin’s injury boost is great news for Rangers and they will need him even more due to the fact that David Bates is sidelined for the foreseeable future. The Scottish centre-back has become an important player for the Light Blues and his leadership at the back is vital. Graeme Murty’s side have seen their slim hopes of a title challenge fade even further away after back-to-back defeat, but they still have second in the league to play for. They need to get back to winning ways when they face Motherwell and Martin can be expected to play a key role in lifting the group.
