West Ham are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon this summer, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is a reliable source for reliable and exclusive West Ham insider information, made the claim on Twitter on Thursday morning.

Ex was asked by a fan whether a story linking the club to a move for West Brom captain Jonny Evans was true, and replied with an update on several Baggies targets.

“Yes we would definitely like him as well as a couple of other players from WBA (Rondon, Foster – dependent on price) but I would imagine Evans will have those big clubs go back in for him,” he said.

The Baggies signed Rondon from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2015 for a fee of £15million.

Good move for West Ham?

It could turn out to be.

Powerhouse striker Rondon has shown glimpses of quality for the Baggies during his time at the club, and looks like he would be able to translate that to a bigger stage.

The Venezuela international has scored 25 goals in 110 appearances for West Brom, which is not that impressive, but his all-round play is strong.

With some better service, Rondon could improve his scoring numbers, and could be a good signing for the Hammers.

Likely to happen?

Who knows.

The possibility of a move would increase if the Baggies are relegated, so we will know more at the end of the season.
