West Ham fans on social media were not quick to praise their club over plans to reportedly hire a director of football in the summer.
The London Evening Standard reported on Tuesday that Hammers co-owner David Sullivan would be less involved with the club’s transfer dealings in the summer as the club were going to hire an experiences director of football to handle their transfer business.
The newspaper claimed that Sullivan, Karren Brady and David Gold had all agreed to hire a director of football after fans had criticised the club’s recruitment policy.
It is believed that the club would wait until the summer to appoint a director of football as they’re waiting to see if David Moyes will remain as the Hammers manager.
ExWHUemployee, who is a reliable source for exclusive West Ham insider information on Twitter, confirmed that the newspaper’s report was correct and added that the club had already identified the person they wanted to hire.

I can see a Director of football , but in no circumstances you will have the final say , that is and always will be DS gets final decision! So imo it’s best to get rid of him IMMEDIATELY!! #NotFitForPurpose

If it’s anything like our transfer business we will try and get him on loan then when that fails offer him half of what he is already earning per year

Seriously though, I wouldn't even trust Sullivan to be able to pick his nose without his ego getting in the way so why does anyone think this is going to end well. May as well employ a director of traffic for all it matters cos Sullivan will still have to sign the cheques
