Tottenham have been won over by Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara and are preparing a summer swoop for the 20-year-old, according to the Corriere Dello Sport

The Italian newspaper report that Tottenham’s interest in the midfield enforcer has increased over recent weeks and they are now keen on a summer move.

Corriere Dello Sport claim that Napoli are aware of the interest and have identified Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira as his replacement.

It is said that talks between Napoli and Sampdoria for Uruguay international Torreira have already started, with the club intending to use the money from Diawara’s sale.

Napoli are currently second in Serie A, just two points behind defending champions Juventus.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

This would be a decent move for Spurs.

Diawara has shown glimpses of brilliance for the Serie A leaders this season, with the youngster having made 24 appearances in all competitions so far.

The midfielder has shown a wide passing range for Maurizio Sarri’s side, and is a combative presence in midfield with impressive positioning for such a young player.

At just 20 years old he looks the perfect signing for Mauricio Pochettino, who will no doubt help him to develop into a top player if he moves to Tottenham

Likely to happen?

It does look as though Tottenham are showing serious interest in Diawara, but there has been nothing in the English press about a potential move.

It is still early days with two months left in the season, and if this one is likely then we will surely hear more about it very soon.
