Michael Owen has predicted Tottenham to beat Swansea City on Saturday and prove that they can be successful without Harry Kane in their team.

The former Liverpool player revealed that he thought Spurs would be able to show that they’re “not a one-man band” and tipped Heung-Min Son to be the difference for his side with Kane missing.

“Any club side in the world would miss Harry Kane and his goals but Spurs have to show they are not a one-man band at the Liberty Stadium against an improving Swansea side,” wrote Owen in his predictions for BetVictor.

“Spurs are unbeaten in their last 15 games against the Swans in all competitions although the South Wales outfit did pick up a point at Wembley earlier in the season.

“Son Heung-Min stepped up to the plate in Kane’s absence at the Vitality Stadium last weekend and the South Korean might again be the difference given he has scored nine times in his last 10 FA Cup starts.”

Kane will not feature in his side’s FA Cup quarter-final against the Swans on Saturday as Spurs confirmed via a tweet that he was unavailable due to an ankle injury and wouldn’t be back in training until next month.

The England international injured his ankle during the 4-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday.

OPINION

The Swans have improved their form as of late and look like they’re heading to being safely secure in the Premier League for another season. Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal will not want to derail his side’s momentum and will go all out to beat Spurs on Saturday, so Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need to be at their best. Owen is right to highlight Son as potentially be the Spurs player that will guide his side to victory. The South Korean international is more than capable of filling Kane’s shoes and could easily score several goals to ensure his side progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
