Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has raved about Christian Eriksen’s form for Tottenham Hotspur this season, saying the Dane has ‘reached another level.’

The 26-year-old playmaker was the catalyst for Spurs’ 3-0 win over Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the weekend, scoring twice to secure a last-four clash with Manchester United.

In a column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp has sung the praises of the Denmark international after his match-winning performance at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

“Christian Eriksen has reached another level with Spurs this season. He has gone from a nice player to a ruthless playmaker who thrives when running games.

“Eriksen is as important to Mauricio Pochettino as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min. As Swansea discovered to their peril on Saturday, give him time and space and he will destroy you,” he said.

The attacking midfielder opened the scoring on 11 minutes when he drove at the Swansea back four before unleashing a sumptuous left-footed effort into the far corner.

He wrapped up Tottenham’s win in the second-half with his second of the match, rifling home from the edge of the box after being set up by Lucas Moura’s lay-off.

Eriksen now has 11 goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.

OPINION

Saturday’s performance against Swansea was probably Eriksen’s best of the season so far. With Harry Kane out injured Spurs need another attacking force to step up every game, and this time it was Eriksen’s turn. The Dane was at the heart of everything going forward for Spurs, and could have had a hat-trick if it weren’t for Swansea goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt. Tottenham now have a break before they face Chelsea next weekend in a crucial clash that will go a long way to deciding the top four at the end of the season.
