Mauricio Pochettino heaped praise on Christian Eriksen after Tottenham beat Swansea City 3-0 on Saturday.
Spurs cruised to victory against the Swans in their FA Cup quarter-final meeting as Eriksen grabbed a brace to help his side get the win.
After the match, Pochettino was asked by the media about the Danish playmaker’s performance and he highlighted how Eriksen improves every season.
“Yes, Christian is doing a fantastic job,” said Pochettino, as quoted by Football.London.
“He’s such an important player for us, every season he steps up, one step higher and more.
“He’s a fantastic player, today he was fantastic, two great goals then the performance, he is very consistent in the whole season always.”
The 26-year-old Spurs midfielder has made 37 appearances this season and has scored nine goals, while creating 10.
Eriksen has been at the club since 2013 after joining from Ajax, and is contracted to stay with Pochettino’s side until 2020.

It’s hard to believe that Eriksen is only 26-years-old as it feels like he has been at the top of his game for a long while. The Danish playmaker ran the show against the Swans on Saturday and made everyone forget that his sensational teammate, Harry Kane, was missing. Eriksen deserved his two goals on Saturday and was unlucky not to have grabbed a hat-trick as his side dominated the game. It’s interesting that Pochettino thinks that the midfielder gets better every season, as if he continues to improve for the next campaign, other Premier League teams will be terrified to face him.
