Juventus will deploy scouts to run the rule over Liverpool midfielder Emre Can when Germany meet Spain in a friendly on Friday night, according to Il Bianconero

The Juventus news website report that club scouts will be in attendance to watch the 24-year-old, who is their number one summer transfer target.

Il Bianconero claim that the club realise there is little more to learn about Can after previous scouting missions, but hope that their attendance will encourage further discussion with the player’s representatives.

Can’s contract at Liverpool is coming to an end this summer and he is yet to agree an extension with the Reds, and Juventus have been targeting the midfielder for several months now.

Juventus are currently leading Serie A, holding a slight two-point advantage over nearest challengers Napoli as they look for a seventh title in a row.

OPINION

Juventus’ interest in Can will obviously come as little surprise to anyone involved with Liverpool. The Bianconeri’s interest in the midfielder has been made obvious since around December, and they have been hot on his tail ever since. It had looked like the deal to take him to Turin was a done deal, but recent noises have suggested that Can is still open to staying at Anfield. It looks as though the 24-year-old will wait until the summer to make his decision, with Liverpool still fighting for the Champions League.
