Liverpool fans will be intrigued to hear that their former player Craig Bellamy can’t see attacking sensation Mohamed Salah leaving Anfield at the end of the season.

There has been much talk that one of the Spanish giants could chase down the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window after this sensational season this year.

The right-winger has scored 36 goals in just 41 games across all competitions and comparisons have even started with Barcelona’s legendary figure Lionel Messi.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon reports that Real Madrid are plotting a player-plus-cash deal involving Lucas Vazquez to try sign the in-form Liverpool attacker in the summer.

However, Sky Sports pundit Bellamy is adamant that Salah will remain with the Merseyside club for at least another year.

“If I was Liverpool, I’d take it as a compliment, why wouldn’t top clubs be interested?” Bellamny told The Debate Show, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I’d be worried if they weren’t. Real Madrid and Barcelona, who could be prepared to pay big money, will surely want to see another year from Salah.

“There are other players out there that have proved themselves over two or three years who might be closer to going to those types of clubs.

“Those types of clubs are the pinnacle of football – if they come in for you, you want to be a part of that. They are on another planet, but I don’t see it happening this summer.”

OPINION

Salah is now going to be linked with moves frequently over the next few months and that’s what happens with the best players in the world. The Egypt international has been as good as anybody in this season alone, but the real question is already whether or not he can sustain such high standards moving forward. It would make sense for Europe’s elite to watch him for another year at Anfield to see if he can back up such a brilliant goalscoring season. Liverpool fans have quickly taken “Egyptian King” Salah to their hearts and would be devastated if they were to lose him so soon.
