Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin recently voiced his frustrations about his lack of playing time in the second half of the season and Sam Allardyce must hand him a chance to impress against Manchester City on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Toffees forward also commented on rumours suggesting he could soon appear for England’s senior team, before praising his own ability.

“I know there was speculation about the seniors, but I need to be scoring goals and affecting games,” stated Calvert-Lewin, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“Obviously, in the second half of the season, I’ve perhaps not played as much as I would have liked.

“I like to think I’ve got a bit of everything in my game, I like to bring different things to the table.”

Calvert-Lewin has had a breakthrough season at Goodison Park, making 41 appearances in the first-team across all competitions.

The 21-year-old during this campaign has managed to score eight goals, while creating six in order to help his side’s cause.

However with centre-forward Cenk Tosun starting to flourish at the club, Calvert-Lewin has spent a lot of time on the sidelines in recent games.

The Toffees starlet has only completed 90 minutes on one occasion in his last 10 league appearances.

After leading the line in the first half of the campaign, this has clearly frustrated Calvert-Lewin as he is keen to show what he can do.

The 21-year-old claims that his game has a bit of everything and that he likes to bring different things to the table, but he hasn’t proven this with his previous displays.

With the Toffees’ next game being against current league leaders Manchester City on Saturday, Allardyce should give the youngster a rare start in order for him to put his money where his month is.

Allardyce’s side will need all the help they can get against Man City and if the youngster really thinks he can bring something different, the Toffees manager must unleash him on Saturday.
