Arsenal are planning to send Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson out on loan next season, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Gunners rate the teenagers highly and believe receiving regular football while out on loan would aid their development.

The Sun report that Arsene Wenger’s side are looking for another top-flight side to take Nketiah on loan as they believe he can make the grade at the Emirates.

However it’s unknown what level of side the club will look to loan Nelson to, but the 18-year-old winger has featured more for the first-team then Nketiah as it stands.

Nelson has made 14 senior appearances during this campaign for the Gunners, with the majority of his outings coming in the Europa League.

Whereas Nketiah has only played eight times for the senior side this season, but like Nelson, most of the 18-year-old forward’s appearances have come in the Europa League.

Both youngsters were unused substitutes during their side’s 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday.

Good move for Arsenal?

Yes, it’s about time the Gunners loaned out the talented pair in order for them to get regular first-team football.

Clearly in Nelson’s case at least, the youngster has been chomping at the bit to feature for a while.

The Sun report also shared that the teenager was visibly upset at not featuring against Watford on Sunday as he threw his bib to the ground after realising he wasn’t going to feature.

Hopefully both end up at Premier League clubs or top clubs in Europe, as they they’re both capable of featuring at a high level based on their Europa League experience.

Likely to happen?

Yes. Both teenagers have not gotten as many opportunities in the first-team as their talent deserves, and both will be eager for the club to send them somewhere in order to prove themselves.

While the Gunners have given them chances to impress in the Europa League, it’s the not the same as playing regular football every week in a league.
