Wolves fans were unimpressed with Benik Afobe’s performance against Preston North End on Saturday and took to social media to share their disappointment with him.
The 25-year-old forward replaced Alfred N’Diaye in the 62nd minute of the game when the score was 1-1, and he was unable to change that scoreline despite there being a significant amount of time left.
Afobe is yet to score for Wolves since rejoining them from Bournemouth on loan in January after previously having a successful first spell at the club.
However, the centre-forward has only featured three times in the Championship, including his cameo against Preston, since joining and is yet to complete 90 minutes.
During his time at the club between 2015 and 2016, Afobe scored 23 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions.
This record has caused fans to expect the centre-forward to be able to hit the ground running at the Championship club, but they have so far being left disappointed.
One Wolves supporter shared that he believed even though it was early days the centre-forward should have grabbed a goal by now, while another fan tweeted that they thought Afobe didn’t suit the club’s style of playing.
Afobe had a golden opportunity to win Wolves the game against Preston when Matt Doherty played the ball through to the centre-forward.
However, Afobe’s shot was comfortably saved by Preston goalkeeper Declan Rudd.

Haven't seen it yet but not sure if I'm being harsh or not when I say I expected more. The last 2 games he's had big chances. Early days I know but he should have had atleast one.

If and it’s a really big if @Wolves don’t go up I’m sorry but it’s finishing again. Afobe great acquisition but still missing a 20 goal plus forward. @njudah_star . Big two games now https://t.co/FKBE3N8pm8

Howe can take the blame for that, signing then just leaving him to rot, needs a goal like Costa
