Lewis Grabban completed 45 minutes in the draw against Preston on Tuesday night – and the Aston Villa fans on Twitter were impressed with his performance.
The 30-year-old attacker came onto the field as a half-time substitute and helped his side fight from a goal behind to draw 1-1 in the Championship fixture.
Visitors Preston were on top in the first-half and were in front through a Tom Barkhuizen goal.
However, Steve Bruce changed it around at the interval and Grabban came off the bench to score his first goal for the Midlands club since he joined in January.
The centre-forward calmly converted a penalty in the 66th minute as he placed the ball down the middle of the goal.
Villa remain third in the league table following their draw and missed the opportunity to leapfrog second-placed Cardiff into the automatic promotion spots.
Villa fans on social media highlighted the impact of Grabban against Preston and feel he could turn out to be a brilliant signing.
The attacker spent the first half of the season with Championship strugglers Sunderland, but now has 13 league goals this campaign to his name.
He is a versatile player that can be used as a winger or in a more central position, but will hope he can force his way into Bruce’s starting XI after a positive impact.

Wasn’t a good day for us, Preston played well but you take the point and run. Thought Grabban was good, needs to start. Jedinak was atrocious, needs dropping I’m afraid. Did a job vs Blues but just not mobile enough. Onto Sheff Wed Saturday. #avfc

That was pretty poor, lots of negatives but one big positive – Grabban who looks a proper player #AVFC

Not the worst result in the world could have just as easily lost or won it. Thank God we landed Grabban and not Cardiff, he is a proper player #AVFC

Got out of jail tonight #avfc. should have started with Davis due to lack of creativity with Grealish and Adomah injured. Grabban impressive
