German top-flight club RB Leipzig are interested in signing Tottenham attacker Reo Griffiths, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that the Bundesliga side are prepared to raid Spurs and have identified their highly-rated 17-year-old as a potential target.

It is understood that Leipzig’s head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, who previously worked at Spurs, is keen to take young English talents to Germany to help their development.

The report details that any exits from Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be on a loan basis and a temporary switch for prolific centre-forward Griffiths is being eyed by Leipzig.

Good move for Spurs?

Spurs should certainly consider loaning out Griffiths to the Bundesliga as a growing number of young English players are getting first-team opportunities in their top flight.

Griffiths has scored 20 goals for Spurs’ Under-18s side this season and should be shipped out on loan to further his game.

Any young striker at the North London club is starting to be dubbed the next Harry Kane, but there is a real sense of belief that Griffiths has a bright future ahead of him.

He would have a familiar face in Spurs’ former head of recruitment at Leipzig and it would be a step forward in his career.
