Celebrity Arsenal fan Jack Whitehall made a cheeky joke about Tottenham’s chances of winning a trophy this season when introducing Harry Kane at the Brit Awards.

The comedian introduced the Spurs striker on to the stage, as he was presenting an award, and took the opportunity to show the fact he was an Arsenal fan by taking a dig at Tottenham.

“Our next presenter is a Tottenham striker… meaning the Brit award he hands out tonight will probably be the only trophy he gets his hands on this season,” said Whitehall at the Brit Awards, as quoted by The Sun.

The 24-year-old Spurs forward has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 34 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Despite being in prolific form, Kane’s side look very unlikely to win the Premier League this season as they sit 20 points behind current leaders Manchester City.

However, Spurs are still in the FA Cup and the Champions League, so the 24-year-old could make Whitehall regret his joke by the end of the season.

OPINION

Whitehall may regret his joke come the end of the season, as Tottenham could end up winning more trophies than Arsenal. While it’s true the Gunners could lift the League Cup on Sunday, they face a difficult task beating Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side may have just lost 1-0 to Wigan, but they will no doubt make them even more determined to beat Arsenal on Sunday. However, it’s worth noting that Whitehall probably realises this and was just making a joke at Tottenham’s expense why he still can. If the Gunners fail to lift the League Cup on Sunday, their only other chance of silverware is the Europa League.
