Alfie Mawson limped off during the warm-up for Swansea City’s game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and the defender now looks like a doubt for his side’s clash with West Ham on March 3.
BT Sport’s cameras captured Mawson limping off, with the defender being replaced in the Swans’ line-up for the FA Cup fixture by Kyle Naughton.

The broadcaster then filmed the 24-year-old taking a place on Swansea’ bench during the game, with the star needing crutches to help him make it to his seat.
A sight no Swansea City fan wants to see…
Get well soon Alfie ?

Football.London reported that the defender was suspected to have sustained an ankle injury and that it was now unclear whether he’d be fit enough to play against West Ham on March 3.
This is a huge boost to the Hammers’ as Mawson has been a key player in improving Swansea City’s fortunes in the league since Carlos Carvalhal became manager.
Under Carvalhal, the Swans have only lost once and are currently on a nine match unbeaten run.
The 24-year-old’s performances have been a major reason why the Swans have been able to climb off the bottom of the table to sit 16th.
However, Swansea are still only one point off the bottom three, with West Ham only four points clear of the drop zone.
Mawson has played 32 times this season across all competitions, scoring three goals, while creating one.
OPINION
West Ham’s clash against the Swans is no doubt going to be important to both of their chances of avoiding relegation this season, as both are close to falling into the bottom three. With Mawson potentially missing the game, it’s great news for the Hammers. The 24-year-old centre-back is vital to the Swans’ success as he is not only a solid presence at the back, he seems able to inspire his team to drive forward. David Moyes’ is no doubt aware of the player’s talents as Sky Sports reported in January that the West Ham manager was keen on signing him after losing Jose Fonte to injury.
