Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has named Tottenham star Christian Eriksen as the danger man in the north London derby this weekend, and says the Dane is ‘reaching new levels.’

Bitter rivals Spurs and Arsenal face off at Wembley on Saturday in a crucial clash in the Premier League race for the top four, with both sides in good form coming in.

Arsenal demolished Everton 5-1 last time out as new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan impressed.

And Spurs are coming in off a 2-0 win over Newport in the FA Cup, which followed a 2-2 draw an Anfield against Liverpool.

In his ‘Tackle Keown’ column from the Daily Mail, Keown said: “Christian Eriksen is looking like the real deal. There is a cutting edge and venom to his play. He could well be the match-winner this weekend.

“We talk about Arsenal paying close attention to Harry Kane and Dele Alli but Eriksen can profit from any space that Arsene Wenger’s side afford Spurs. He has the tools to thunder in a shot or curl one in.

“Eriksen is a slow burner but this season he is reaching new levels.”

Eriksen’s form has been brilliant for Spurs in recent matches, especially against Manchester United, with the Dane dominating the game from start to finish, including scoring the third-fastest goal in league history after just 10 seconds.

OPINION

Keown has singled out Eriksen as Spurs’ biggest threat, but they have several players that can hurt Arsenal on the day. Kane and Son are the others that spring to mind, but this Spurs team are solid all-round. However, Arsenal have several danger men of their own, including both of their new signings. Aubameyang will cause major problems for the Spurs back line with his speed, and Mkhitaryan will be the one trying to feed him in behind. It should be a cracking fixture.
