Harry Kane revealed that he was excited about Lucas Moura joining Tottenham as he brings more competition for places.

The centre-forward revealed that he met the 25-year-old Brazilian in the changing room during Spurs’ 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Wednesday.

“We just met him in the changing room,” said Kane, as quoted by the Independent.

“It’s great to have him here, it’s more competition for places, keeping everyone on their toes.

“He’s done amazing stuff for PSG, so we’re excited to get to know him.”

Moura signed for Tottenham from Paris St Germain for £25 million, according to the BBC, and he signed a contract that will keep him at Spurs until 2023.

The winger, who can feature on either flank, has hardly featured for PSG this season making only six appearances across all competitions.

Moura didn’t play any part of the French giant’s Champions League campaign which means his eligible to feature in the tournament for Tottenham in the second half of the season, if Mauricio Pochettino names him in his squad.

OPINION

It’s good to hear that Kane is excited by the arrival of Moura as you feel the sensational striker will only stay at Tottenham while their ambitious. Moura may not be the trophy the 24-year-old desires, but his arrival shows that Spurs are moving in the right direction. The Brazilian winger is an exciting player to have at the club and will no doubt help Tottenham in their quest to add a trophy to their cabinet. Spurs have spent big money, at least for them, by splashing out £25million for Moura. Daniel Levy will no doubt hope that his investment proves to be worthwhile come the end of the season.
