Former Tottenham striker Jermaine Jenas has urged current star Dele Alli to seize the opportunity to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona if they come calling.

21-year-old Tottenham star Alli has burst onto the scene at Spurs after a £5million move from MK Dons in January 2015, going on to make 128 appearances for the club, scoring 41 goals.

His rise to prominence has led to the inevitable links to the giants of European football, with Real Madrid and Barcelona both heavily linked with moves for Alli in recent times.

Former Spurs midfielder Jenas has thrown doubt on whether Alli should stay at Spurs if the opportunity arises to join either Euro giant, saying that the youngster would regret the decision to remain in England.

As quoted by the Mirror, Jenas said: “Should he stay at Tottenham? I don’t know. What he’s achieving at Spurs is brilliant and he’ll play the games there, that’s the guarantee. But you can’t ignore it if Real come or Barca come. And they are the two clubs, essentially, because I don’t see him moving within English football. Maybe Manchester City, if they start dominating European football, might start being attractive to him.
