Glenn Hoddle revealed that he believes Tottenham will see the best of Lucas Moura if he gets regular football at the club.

The former Spurs manager shared that even though he hasn’t seen enough of the winger in big games, he was confident that Tottenham would get the best out of him.

“On reflection, he looks like he’s got pedigree,” said Hoddle in an exclusive interview with Football.London.

“He’s not done anything outstanding at PSG, but he looks the part.

“Personally I’ve not seen enough of him yet really in big games to see if he will be consistent, but I do think he’ll add to the squad, I think he’ll be a good addition.

“He needs somewhere to settle down, play football and play back-to-back games, I think you’ll see the best of him.

“He could be really exciting for Spurs, but he’s got a bit of work to do to prove that.”

Moura joined Spurs for £25million from Paris St Germain on transfer deadline day, according to the BBC, after the Brazilian winger only featured for the French giants six times this season.

The 25-year-old is known for his impressive pace and dazzling dribbling ability, which helped him register 50 assists in 229 appearances for PSG.

OPINION

Hoddle is cautious about predicting that Moura will be a success at Spurs by suggesting that he needs to put the work in to be one. However, the pundit is clearly impressed with what the winger could potentially offer his former side, he just needs to see Moura prove his ability. Tottenham paid a reasonable amount for the Brazilian with £25million being a low fee given today’s market. It’s good news for Spurs that PSG hardly played Moura as his lack of appearances in the Champions League this season, enable him to feature against Juventus in February when Tottenham play them in the tournament.
