Tottenham expected XI v Juventus

|

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – Spurs captain and leader, Lloris is expected to take his place between the sticks as normal v Juventus. Retains his place.

Serge Aurier (Right-back) – With Kieran Trippier usurping Aurier as Pochettino’s number one choice at right-back for Premier League clashes, it is expected that the Ivory Coast international will deputise for this Champions League match. Aurier for Trippier.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-back) – It was possibly expected that Sanchez may either be dropped, or deployed as part of a back three with Toby Alderweireld, but the Belgian has reportedly been left in England to work on his fitness after a long injury lay-off. Sanchez is therefore expected to play. Retains his place.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – While Harry Kane will get most of the plaudits for his heroics for Tottenham this season, Vertonghen is pushing him all the way as the club’s best player this campaign. Another stellar performance against Arsenal confirmed that. Retains his place.

Danny Rose (Left-back) – Rose suffered an unfortunate injury setback which has allowed Ben Davies to take his place as Pochettino’s preferred left-back. But Rose was named on the bench to play Arsenal, and Davies is in need of a rest, meaning Pochettino is expected to rotate them on Tuesday. Rose for Davies.
