Jamie Redknapp has revealed that he has been impressed with Davinson Sanchez this season for Tottenham.
The Sky Sports pundit shared on The Debate that he believes Spurs can win the Champions League this season and highlighted Sanchez when revealing his reasons why he thought that.
“Can they win the Champions League?” questioned Redknapp.
“Absolutely they can, Liverpool and Tottenham are dangerous teams because they have the special players in there.
“At the start of the season everyone was talking about Spurs’ squad depth, but they have a really strong squad.
“I’ve been impressed with Davinson Sanchez and they now have real versatility, I am surprised they do not have more points in the league.”
Tottenham signed Sanchez from Ajax for a club-record fee of £42million, according to The Guardian, last summer.
The 21-year-old has made 30 appearances for the club across all competitions this season and scored one goal.

Sanchez didn’t exactly put in a stellar performance against Juventus during Spurs’ 2-2 draw on Tuesday, but Redknapp is right to have been impressed by him this season. A lot is expected of the 21-year-old given how much Spurs spent on him and at times you can see that it’s a worthwhile investment. When the defender is at his best, he looks capable of being a world beater. However, when he puts in poor performance, he more often than not becomes a liability for his side. Although it’s worth noting that Sanchez is still young and as he gains experience, he’ll probably become capable of delivering consistent performances. Hopefully, the 21-year-old is at his best for the second leg of Spurs’ Champions League fixture against Juventus on March 7.
