A fresh bid from Amanda Staveley and PCP Capital Partners for Newcastle United unlikely to happen soon, according to the Chronicle.
The Newcastle-based newspaper claim in their live blog (Tuesday, 12:23) that a new bid from PCP is not imminent, after weekend reports downplaying another offer.
The Chronicle report that Staveley does remain interested however, and the possibility of a fresh bid cannot be ruled out.
It is said that another party who have been considering a bid for the Magpies have not made any progress on their decision to make an offer for the club.
Staveley and PCP made several bids for the club around the turn of the year, but negotiations were ended by owner Mike Ashley, who branded the consortium time wasters.

And so the Newcastle takeover stories begin once again. There was always going to be a lull in activity during the January transfer window, and after Ashley ended talks with PCP. However, it has always been clear that the consortium remain interested, and it looks as though we will see an upturn in reports surrounding the takeover in the coming weeks. With the Premier League TV rights to be decided in the next few days, the value of the club will become more clear, and potential bidders can come back with renewed bids for Ashley to consider.
