Newcastle United scouts will be in attendance to watch winger Garry Rodrigues when Galatasaray take on Bursaspor in the Turkish Super Lig this evening, according to Milliyet.

The Turkish outlet report that the Magpies are among four top-flight European clubs scouting Rodrigues, with officials from Sevilla, Lyon and Fiorentina also in attendance.

Milliyet claim that Rodrigues is attracting serious attention, with the actual number of clubs scouting the tricky winger being close to ten, and Newcastle known to have held an interest in the 27-year-old for a while now.

Another Turkish outlet, Gunes, previously reported that the Magpies saw a £7million bid rejected for Rodrigues in the January window.

The Cape Verde international has scored four goals and laid on seven assists this season, including three goals and four assists in his last six matches.

Good move for Newcastle United?

Yes.

Rodrigues has shown his quality for Galatasary in recent matches, and would be a great addition to the Newcastle squad.

The Cape Verde international is adept in wide areas, thriving in one-on-one battles with defenders, and his finishing ability is showing improvement too.

The Magpies have been lacking such a player in recent months, and Rodrigues would be the perfect supplement to the Newcastle attacking force.

Likely to happen?

Newcastle are seemingly showing concrete interest in Rodrigues, and that is a good sign.

There will obviously be competition for the winger in the summer, but the Magpies are putting themselves in a good position to come out on top.
