With Robert Snodgrass reportedly set to return in the summer, David Moyes will ensure that the winger excels at West Ham next season.

The Birmingham Mail reported that the Hammers were set to give him an opportunity to be a success at the club after he had impressed on loan at Aston Villa this season.

Snodgrass is a key reason why the Villans sit third in the Championship, having impressed in the 26 appearances he has made for the club this season.

And despite appearing to enjoy life at Aston Villa, Football.London reported that Snodgrass was eager to return to the Hammers in order to prove that he could succeed at the club.

As it stands the 30-year-old is regarded as a flop at the club, after failing to impress after West Ham paid £10.2million, according to the BBC, to sign him from Hull City in January 2017.

It could be argued that Snodgrass wasn’t given enough to time to settle in at the club, as he was loaned out to Aston Villa just months after signing.

However, the winger was practically the invisible man in the 15 appearances he made and didn’t look capable of being an effective player for the Hammers.

While some things are better left in the past, Snodgrass is still clearly a player capable of succeeding at the London Stadium.

The winger, who can play on either flank as well as an attacking midfielder, has shown his ability to be a gamechanger with his displays for the Villans this season.

He might be making these sparkling performances in the Championship, but there’s no reason to suggest he couldn’t be equally as impressive in the top-flight with West Ham.

The main reason why Snodgrass can be successful at West Ham next season is because of Moyes being in the charge of the club.

While it’s unsure whether he’ll be there next season, assuming he is, the manager is more than capable of getting the best out of Snodgrass.

Aside from their Scottish connection, Moyes has shown his ability to turn under-performing Hammers stars into vital first-team players.

West Ham hardly did the business they needed to in January, but the Scottish manager has been able to move the club four points clear of the relegation zone.

This is partly down to Moyes’ ability to get every player performing to their max level, just look at the effect he has had on Marko Arnautovic.

The 28-year-old failed to score in the Premier League under Slaven Billic but since Moyes has arrived at the club, he has scored seven goals in 13 league games.

And there’s no reason to suggest that Moyes couldn’t influenced Snodgrass in the same positive manner.

Therefore while he may have flopped the first time around, with fellow Scot Moyes now in charge, Snodgrass will be a success at West Ham next season.
