Liverpool fans took to social media to heap praise on Rafael Camacho after he scored a spectacular goal to help the Reds’ Under-19s side defeat Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday.
Liverpool’s youth team won the game 2-0 in order to progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League, where they will play Manchester City.
Steven Gerrard, who manages the Reds’ Under-19s team, opted not to start Camacho in the game.
However, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder made sure everyone was talking about him following the game, as he made the most of his minutes.
Camacho replaced Bobby Adekanye in the 71st minute of the game, then scored an impressive goal seven minutes later to ensure that the Reds recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory.
BT Sports were broadcasting the game live and they tweeted out Camacho’s goal following the game.
