Ian Wright believes that Tottenham will suffer a narrow defeat when they travel to Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League.

Spurs visit Anfield at the weekend for a league encounter as the race for the Champions League spots heats up.

The north London club are currently fifth in the table and are two points off both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side put down a big marker when they beat second-placed Manchester United in midweek and will hope to build on that against Liverpool.

However, pundit Wright feels that Spurs will lose against the Merseyside club 3-2 as two attacking teams collide.

“I think there’ll be plenty of goals and you can’t look past Harry Kane to open the scoring,” Wright told the Sun.

“I don’t think it will be enough for Spurs, however, and can see Liverpool taking this one 3-2.”

OPINION

Spurs know that a trip to Anfield is one of their toughest games of the season on paper and they will have to be at their best to get a positive result at the weekend. Pochettino’s side will climb into the top four if they pick up three points and that is a great incentive for his players to think about. Spurs certainly have the quality to rip through Liverpool’s defence, who have proven they are extremely vulnerable. However, trying to handle the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in front of a packed Anfield crowd will be another thing.
