Francesco Totti has revealed that he considers Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to be one of the best players in the world and that he expects the 25-year-old to get even better.

The AS Roma legend played with Salah at the Italian giants and shared how highly he rated the winger.

“The level he is playing at, at the moment, he is one of the best players in the world,” Totti said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“And I think he can and will get even better.

“I know him well, he is a good friend and wants to keep improving, to keep getting better as a player.

“He does all the right things, he trains hard, he works hard, he listens to the coaches, that’s why, as good as he is playing at the moment, I think maybe there is even one more level in him.”

Salah joined Liverpool in the summer from AS Roma for £34million, according to the BBC, and signed five-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old winger has made 36 appearances for the Reds this season across all competitions, and has scored an impressive 30 goals.

Salah’s prolific form sees him currently sit second in the race to win the Premier League Golden Boot, as 22 of his 30 goals this season have come in the league.

OPINION

Salah has already defied expectations so Totti’s suggestion that the 25-year-old could improve further is an exciting idea for Liverpool supporters. Totti has witnessed Salah play first hand, after playing alongside him in Serie A, and no doubt has a good idea of what the winger could eventually be capable of. If Salah does continue to impress and get better then the Reds need to ensure he plays for them for the foreseeable future. The winger’s form this season will no doubt cause teams to try and sign him in the summer, and Liverpool need to turn down whatever offers they receive for him.
