Liverpool expected XI v Porto

|

Loris Karius (Goalkeeper) – Karius is now Jurgen Klopp’s number one between the sticks in the Premier League, and many expected Simon Mignolet to come in for this European clash. However, Klopp has suggested that he will end his rotation policy and retain Karius against Porto. Retains his place.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Right-back) – The young right-back has had a nice little run in the side recently after Joe Gomez sustained an injury, and despite Gomez possibly being ready to return for this one, Alexander-Arnold is expected to start. Retains his place.

Joel Matip (Centre-back) – Matip did not start against Spurs, but returned to keep a clean sheet alongside Virgil van Dijk against Southampton, and it is that partnership which is expected to be retained on Wednesday. Retains his place.

Virgil van Dijk (Centre-back) – Despite some dodgy moments so far in his Liverpool career, van Dijk is the obvious choice at centre-back for Klopp. Retains his place.

Andy Robertson (Left-back) – Alberto Moreno was the obvious choice at left-back earlier this season, but an injury to the Spaniard has opened the door for Robertson, who has seized his opportunity well. Expected to retain his place.
