Ian Wright shared that he fancied Arsenal’s chances against Tottenham on Saturday but admitted stopping Harry Kane was key to the Gunners getting a victory.

In his predictions for The Sun, the pundit suggested that punters bet on the score being 3-2 in Arsenal’s favour, as he thought the Gunners would have enough to edge the game.

However, he conceded that Kane was capable of scoring for Spurs given only half a chance.

“Arsenal have done well at the national stadium recently and with the new signings seeming to have hit the ground running I fancy the Gunners’ chances in this one,” said Wright as quoted by the newspaper.

“Harry Kane will obviously pose a threat and rightly be the favourite to score first but I think that just means there’s an extra bit of value about Aubameyang.

“The key to stopping Kane is to cut off his supply, Wenger should make a point of getting on top of Eriksen and Alli to starve Kane of opportunities.

“He only needs a half-chance to score though so I can see goals in this one.”

If Arsenal achieve victory at Wembley against Tottenham on Saturday, they will move just one point behind their bitter rivals.

OPINION

Wright may be a little bias when predicting this game given his connection to Arsenal, but he’s certainly right to expect an exciting game. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kane both set to appear, goals are all but guaranteed. If the Gunners can find a way to neutralise Kane, then Tottenham may be in trouble. Spurs are far from a one man team, but there’s no denying their main source of goals is Kane. However, stopping the 24-year-old is easier said then done, as many teams have tried and failed in the last couple of seasons. This game could give Arsenal the edge over Spurs in the race for the top-four come the end of the season.
