Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Saturday’s game between Watford and Everton will end as a 1-1 draw.

The pundit shared that even though he thinks Watford are in danger of being relegated this season, he doesn’t believe that the Toffees will be able to get all three points when they play on Saturday.

“Watford are one of the teams I really worry about when I look at the bottom of the table,” stated Lawrenson in his column for BBC Sport.

“I know it is early days for Javi Gracia, who has only been in charge for four matches and beat Chelsea in one of them, but I don’t see them getting the results they need to climb away from trouble.

“Everton have been on a bad run themselves but I think they turned the corner when they beat Crystal Palace in their last game and I would be surprised if they lost this one.”

The Toffees have only won one of their last five league games, and have conceded 12 goals during this time.

Everton could move up to seventh with victory against Watford if other results go in their favour.

OPINION

Lawrenson may find himself being surprised on Saturday as there’s a very good chance that Watford could grab victory at Vicarage Road on Saturday. The Hornets may have been comfortably beaten by West Ham last weekend, but their performance against Chelsea showed what they’re capable of. If Watford were able to perform at their best again, then the Toffees would easily lose the game. Sam Allardyce’s side have shown many weaknesses at the back in recent games, and there’s seems to be no signs of their problems getting resolved. Crystal Palace would have gotten a better result against them last Saturday if Roy Hodgson’s side actually took their chances.
