Italian giants Juventus have made enquiries about the availability of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere this summer, according to the Mirror

The newspaper claim that Wilshere has been approached by several European sides, with the 26-year-old free to talk to and sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs as his current deal runs out at the end of the season.

The Mirror report however that Wilshere is set to sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, and is prepared to take a pay cut to do so.

It is said that the offer on the table from the Gunners would see Wilshere’s basic wage cut from £110,000-a-week to £90,000-a-week, but there would be massive incentives written in for appearances and results.

Good move for Arsenal?

Selling Wilshere would not be a good move.

The 26-year-old midfielder has shown himself to be one of Arsenal’s shining lights this season, having come back so well from his injury hell.

There is always the risk that Wilshere will be struck down with another complaint, but his value to the club is too high to let him go.

Likely to happen?

As the report states, Wilshere is expected to sign a new deal with the Gunners.

It looks as though he is happy taking a pay cut, as he will be well aware of his injury problems over the past few years.

A move abroad to Juventus looks unlikely then, as Wilshere looks set for a stay in his beloved north London.
