David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will lose to Brentford when they meet at Elland Road on Saturday.

In his predictions for Sky SportsĀ the pundit shared that with Brentford being in such great form, he believed that the West London side would win the game 1-0.

“Paul Heckingbottom has experienced a full range of emotions in just three games in charge of Leeds, but he’s yet to have that winning feeling and that late equaliser against Derby was a real blow for him,” said Prutton.

“Brentford are in great form and are within touching distance of the top six again.

“They absolutely destroyed Birmingham in midweek and will be feeling confident ahead of their trip to Elland Road, I have a feeling they’re going to sneak it as well.”

Brentford beat Leeds United 3-1 in their first league meeting of the season at Griffin Park in November.

The Whites are currently one place behind the Bees in the Championship ahead of their meeting, sitting 11th, but even if Leeds win on Saturday, they will stay behind Brentford in the table.

OPINION

Prutton is probably right with his prediction as despite nearly beating Derby on Wednesday, Brentford are going into this game after a confidence boosting 5-0 victory against Birmingham City. The Bees tore Birmingham City apart on Tuesday, and will no doubt be buzzing ahead of playing Leeds on Saturday. While it’s true that there were many positives for Leeds United supporters to take from their side’s 2-2 draw against the Rams, their weakness at the back in that game were shown. Therefore given the Bees’ recent prolific showing, they should have no trouble scoring against the Whites at Elland Road on their way to achieving victory. This means Leeds United will continue to wait for their first win of 2018.
